Complexity doesn’t always make a coffee great — sometimes simple is best. Pura Vida embodies that idea. The phrase, meaning “pure life,” reflects the Costa Rican way of finding joy in the moment and appreciating life’s simple pleasures.

Roasted a bit darker than our usual, this marks Bluume’s first official dark roast. Costa Rican coffee has a reputation for strength, and we wanted to honor that tradition with a cup that feels nostalgic and bold — full-flavored without the bitterness or harsh edge of over-roasting.

This lot comes from Tarrazú, Costa Rica’s most celebrated coffee-growing region, harvested between November and March. It’s a Honey process coffee, where part of the fruit’s mucilage is left on during drying, giving the cup its signature rounded sweetness and clean structure. Grown at high elevations, the combination of cool nights and volcanic soil produces beans that are dense, consistent, and full of character. The “Jaguar” designation honors Costa Rica’s biodiversity initiatives, where wildlife conservation and sustainable farming practices work hand in hand.
